These are wallet sized thank you cards that you keep them on you, in your purse, pocket or wallet and when someone unexpectedly gives you a helping hand, you have a card to thank them.
The background to this project is that I once read about a study about chimpanzees and their change in behaviour in response to group density. The study said that in large groups, the chimpanzees began to avoid contact, physical and eye, and they lost the intimacy that smaller groups had. I think this accurately describes life of most people in urban centres. So the idea is that we should reward those who go out of their way to break the anonymity between strangers, which is usually done through helping people. I'm hoping that even just by carrying these cards around that you'll begin to recognize that most strangers are good people and maybe that will develop into a sense of community. I think the idea for tiny cards also came from my valentine's day card idea, but that didn't really have the same thinking behind it.
